Making the donation on behalf of his organization, Mr. Adebayo Babatunde, said that Scope Centre was willing to help in improving security at the airports to enhance passengers facilitation.
Babatunde had claimed that the donated detectors were the latest model in the market, and assured that they would help in detecting any concealed metal in any part of the human body. It would also help to increase the alertness of FAAN security operatives at all screening points at, both local and international airports.
The Managing Director, of FAAN, Mr. Richard Aisuebeogun, while receiving the hand-held metal detectors appreciated the bold initiative taken by Scope Centre in partnering with the authority to tackle security challenges at our airports, particularly in the face of evolving security challenges worldwide.
Aisuebeogun promised to deploy the detectors to all the airports immediately to form part of the layers of security technology being put in place by FAAN in view of the security breach involving a United States-bound flight recently.
He noted that such Public-Private partnership would help the nation in moving forward in the aviation sector, which requires huge financial outlay. He encouraged other public spirited organizations to partner with FAAN to transform the aviation sector.
Aisuebeogun noted that the Federal Government recently acquired some sensitive equipment needed at our airports, including X-ray screening machines, walk-through metal detectors that would form a layer of security measure to boost security. He assured the traveling public that FAAN has the capacity to ensure a hitch free travelling experience at all airports nationwide, in line with international standards.
